Sunburst approached us to update their highly popular "Voyage of the Mimi" package of software and videos. One of our partners was the producer of "The Second Voyage of the Mimi" and our President had done the original demo for the Mimi long before it became a reality.

What started as a not so simple conversion of the old Apple II version of the software to today's standards, ultimately evolved into an entirely different product. "A Field Trip to the Sky" preserves the original Sun Lab and Moon Lab modules contained in the Apple II floppies (souped-up and enhanced way beyond Woz's early 1980s dreams) but expanded into a thorough and interactive exploration of the solar system.

The resulting CD-ROM was developed entirely in-house. It contains hundreds (we stopped counting) of computer animations of the Voyager pass-bys as well as possibly the most comprehensive collection of pictures of every planet in our solar system.

Integrated into the CD-ROM we developed an interactive activity in the form of a "lost in space" game where the user has to guess where in the solar system he or she is based on atmospheric and gravitational clues.
